For printing labels, we recommend Vectored artwork but a bitmap file with a minimum of 300dpi (1200dpi preferred) is acceptable. Most likely, your graphic designer will have a vector or Meta version. Low bitmap image quality will degrade during printing.

Because they’re able to be scaled, vector-based images are not resolution dependent and always print at our highest quality.

Vector Image

Vector art is created using vector illustration software programs. These programs use mathematical equations and geometric primitives (points, lines, and shapes) to create art that is clean, print ready, and can be scaled infinitely, without any loss of quality or fidelity.

Vector Images are preferred. .ai, .eps, .pdf

Bitmap Image

Bitmap (or raster) images are stored as a series of tiny dots called pixels. Each pixel is actually a very small square that is assigned a color, and then arranged in a pattern to form the image. When you zoom in on a bitmap image you can see the individual pixels that make up that image.

Bitmap Images over 300dpi are accepted. .jpg, .jpeg .psd, .png, .tif

Meta Image

Meta images are a combination of both of vector and bitmap formats.

Meta images are accepted. .emf only.

Fonts

Both TrueType and OpenType Fonts are usable on both Windows and Mac Computers and are easily transferable. If you want to keep your font editable, please be sure to send your fonts with your files. If you do not need to make edits, you can outline the fonts to make them vector images.

We accept .ttf and .otf fonts

Linked Files

When you import an image into a vector art program, it will just reference the original image. Although the image is displayed, it is not truly in the art. Make sure you do not have any linked images and that all images are embedded in the art file.

If the total file size is over 80mb when the files are linked, you may need to keep the files linked and add the referenced images with the vector image in a .zip format file.
